Another milestone has been reached for the collection of household plastics! Following the successful uniform introduction of our system in over 200 municipalities in the canton of Bern over the past two years, we are nowstarting with the first seven municipalities in the canton of Solothurn from July 1, 2025.
Bellach, Derendingen, Fulenbach, Kestenholz, Laupersdorf, Obergerlafingen and Schnottwil are introducing plastic collection with Bring Plastic Back under uniform conditions. The project is supported by the Association of Solothurn Municipalities (VSEG), the Office for the Environment (AfU) of the Canton of Solothurn and the recycling company kenova AG (formerly Kebag AG), Zuchwil.
The plastic collection bags, which are subject to a charge, can be purchased at various points of sale and handed in at a total of around 1,000 collection points throughout Switzerland. This makes it much easier for consumers to collect and return plastic waste.
