Together with the Toggenburg-based company Ebnat AG, we are demonstrating how the circular economy works successfully in Switzerland. Used food service containers for yoghurt, mustard or mayonnaise are collected and processed into high-quality plastic regranulate at InnoPlastics AG in Eschlikon. Ebnat AG then uses this to produce various household products such as mops, dustpans and brush heads.
Particularly noteworthy are the short transport distances: the collected polypropylene buckets are processed and turned into new products within a radius of just 35 kilometres. Together with Ebnat AG, this project marks the first time we have succeeded in fully closing the Swiss plastics loop for such a product group – using exclusively post-consumer material. This marks an important milestone for the sustainable circular economy.
